The events currently are outside the city limits of Myrtle Beach. The city already has an ordinance that prohibits vendors and special permits from being issued throughout much of Myrtle Beach, but the OZ-50 zones - including Broadway at the Beach, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and the NASCAR Cafe - were exempt. Commissioners gave a thumbs-up to amending zoning rules so no special events can be held during May. Harley Corporate and the vendors that were there, had already left the Convention Center and all they offered this past year (2008) to the Motorcycle Enthusiasts was trailer parking.
