KC here. Used to go every year , twice . Never participated in the party , I was there to race . Daytona ,in my opinion , is a boring track to ride . It can get just a little intense playing pinball at 180 mph . As far as going fast and having fun , Road America is about as fun as high speed circuits get in the good old USA .

Sittin' here drinkin' my morining Coca Cola (hate coffee) and wondered if any folks out of NW FL, GA, AL, MS had tried riding to Daytona Beach via Perry, Cheiftlan, rings, Ocala, Silver Springs? We usually exit off I-10 east of Tallahassee (Hwy 19 to Capps, then 19/27 to Perry).

This route takes longer than going the interstate all the way but is a nice ride.

Looking at the morning paper, the great state of Florida has raised speeding fines as it tries to close a budget gap. 10-14 mph over the limit now a minimum of $191, Up to 19 over limit is minimulm of $241. Blowing through a school zone is $366. Hope you're not one of the folks who helps solve our budget problems via a speeding ticket.
